Meet Michael Bramante, Mirai Nagasu’s boyfriend
Olympic figure skater Mirai Nagasu is currently dating boyfriend Michae Bramante. They have been dating since at least June 2020. In an interview with US Figure Skating at the time, she revealed that she has been spending time holed up in Boston with her boyfriend Michae and her two dogs, Pika and Lincoln.
Michael spoke to Olympics.com and joked in an interview that living with an Olympian was “exhausting!” During the lockdown, Mirai had two dogs and her boyfriend to keep her company. “I have my boyfriend and two dogs here, and I think they like it because they get to sleep all day and go for long walks,” Mirai revealed.
He adopted Pika, a stray dog that a friend of his connected with the “Haiti Street Dog Project” found.
Michael spoke to Olympics.com and shared that it was great except when Mirai wanted to go to practice four times a day. She was constantly on the go with a mile or two run at the end of the day which left him exhausted.
Since there are stories of relationship stress everywhere, the interviewer asked about how Michael and Mirai handle their relationship. Michael replied, “Yeah, we’re fine…” Mirai joked, “I think he just said that because I was sitting right next to him.”
But not only did their relationship grow, they also developed their cooking skills as a couple. Mirai chimed in, “I mean things like baking, that’s not something I was interested in before, but like Michael said, now I’m all about cooking, I’m all about baking, things that I never had time for before because I was so focused on skateboarding.”
They also celebrated birthdays during quarantine, when Michael turned 28 and Mirai turned 27.

But times have changed and life in 2021 is not as difficult as it was in 2020. They appeared on the ice rink in their skates to celebrate Valentine’s Day 2021 together. Part of Mirai’s IG caption reads: “I thought I could skip a commercialized holiday but then I wanted to post a post to thank my lover. Happy Valentine’s Day!”
Michael and Mirai spent Christmas together. During the occasion, Mirai wrote on IG, “Feeling more blessed this Christmas.”
