Meet Wanda Satterthwaite, Jay-Z’s Alleged Child Rymir Satterthwaite’s Mother
Rymir Satterthwaite, the alleged illegitimate child of billionaire rapper Jay-Z, has filed a court order demanding he take a DNA test, according to a report. The 30-year-old said he would stop at nothing to get the 24-time Grammy winner to acknowledge his existence, claiming that was all he wanted from him, DailyMail reported.
“This is not over until justice is served,” Rymir told the Daily Mail. “I just want to live my life and when this is over, I hope Jay-Z wants to be a part of my life if that’s God’s will. I will not stop fighting this until I win. And I will win because the law is on our side.”
According to the source, Jay-Z, whose real name is Shawn Carter, allegedly fathered Rymir with Wanda Satterthwaite in the early 1990s during their on-and-off relationship. The publication claims that by the time Satterthwaite was born in July 1992, the rapper had broken up with Wanda, prompting her to name her high school sweetheart, Robert Graves, as Satterthwaite’s father.
Rymir shared that Wanda told him that Jay was his biological father when he was 8 years old. Wanda initially sued the rapper for child support in New Jersey in 2011. Because the suit was initially filed in the wrong state, it was eventually dismissed and never refiled.
Sadly, Wanda passed away in 2019 and to the day of her death insisted that Jay-Z was the father of her son, Rymir. Wanda made the explosive claims in a document dated February 25, 2015, claiming that she and Jay-Z had “protected sex” but that “the protection fell apart,” that they met through a mutual friend and that they spent the night together at the rapper’s aunt’s apartment in Brooklyn.
The allegations from all parties involved, including Wanda, Rymir and Rymir’s godmother Lillie Collie, to whom Wanda gave custody after becoming ill and unable to care for her son, have been repeatedly denied by Jay-Z’s legal team.
Wanda claims in the affidavit that Jay-Z was known as “Rock” at the time she met the rapper, a precursor to his multibillion-dollar company, Roc Nation. She claims in the affidavit that Jay-Z did not know her by her given name, Wanda, and that she nicknamed her “Carmel” and “Precious.” Wanda claims that she first met Jay-Z in 1992 when she was 16 and a senior in high school.
Born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, Jay-Z was 22. According to Wanda, the only person who knew about the alleged encounter was her friend, Kaleesha Allen, who signed the statement as a witness.
The affidavit continues with Wanda’s allegation that Jay-Z and his friend – who is not named in the document – ‘came back two weeks later to see’ her and Kaleesha, but Kaleesha was not present at the time because she was ‘having problems at home’.
“Shawn asked me to go with him, but I told him I couldn’t because my mom would be upset,” she wrote. “I never saw him again until a year later on TV, but I didn’t know his real name until later and didn’t know how to contact him.”
His new motion, which was 29 pages long and outlined specific arguments from the case, was rejected by the Supreme Court, which ruled that it did not have the authority to make the trial court records public or reopen the cases in the appellate court. Then, on May 8, the appellate court denied Rymir’s motion. He said he would now appeal to the District Court.
Wanda gave custody of the child to Rymir’s godmother Lillie Coley in 2011, and Lillie has been advocating for Rymir ever since. Lillie told DailyMail.com, ‘I was just trying to help my goddaughter’s child have a relationship with his father.’ Recalling how Rymir was forced to come to terms with the fact that his mother was dying at the time, Lillie added, ‘It was hard for him because he was separated from his mother and had no one to call his father.’
Wanda hasn’t updated her FB since March 2019. Her last FB post was “Yes”. She was also engaged at the time.
