Zoé Simpson and Alex Barcello started dating while they were in high school. On May 28, 2021, Zoé revealed on Instagram that Alex proposed to her after school on October 20, 2016. Alex and Zoé have been deeply in love ever since.

Alex made her IG debut on December 26, 2017, which was Zoé’s second IG post. Meanwhile, Alex, who has been on Instagram since 2016 but rarely posts on the platform, made her debut on Valentine’s Day 2021.

Zoé regularly shows off her man on social media with lovey-dovey posts. On Valentine’s Day 2021, she wrote on her IG, “Sometimes I just want to grab his face and stare at him because he’s so cute 🥰 I love my forever lover❣️.” And yes, nothing could be better than that for this couple’s love life.

However, Alex knows how to woo his girl, and on May 20, 2021, he got down on one knee and proposed to her. Of course, Zoé couldn’t contain her happiness and announced their engagement on May 27. On the other hand, Alex also wrote a post, “Dodo… tonight is a movie I want to watch over and over again. I want to spend every day with you for the rest of my life. I love you more than you know! And you have no idea how happy I am to be able to surprise YOU!💕”

He opened his college career with a strong three-game streak of 7.7 points, 3.3 rebounds and 3.7 assists per game while shooting 58.3 percent from the field and 57.1 percent from three-point range.

During his sophomore season, Alex played in 30 of 32 games. He was named CATS Academics Student-Athlete of the Month for February.

He was going through emotional turmoil in 2019. He called his mother at work and based on his voice, she could tell he was struggling. Over the next month, his life changed as he found his purpose. Entering BYU changed everything for the better for him.

Alex then transferred to BYU for the 2019-20 season. In February 2021, he scored a career-high 29 points and made 7 of 7 three-pointers, a program record, in a 79-73 win over the San Francisco Dons. Even his mother believes Coach Pope fixed her son.
