William Michael Zabka, 58, was born in New York City on October 20, 1965. He was raised by his parents, Stanley William Zabka and Nancy Zabka, and his brother, Guy Zabka.

His mother, Nancy, is a business liaison, producer and production assistant, and Stan Zabka is a director, writer and composer. His father, who is of Czech descent, was born in Des Moines, Iowa. He has worked as a production manager on several films, including Chuck Norris’s Forced to Revenge (1982).

Zabka graduated from El Camino Real Charter High School in Los Angeles in 1983 and later attended California State University, Northridge to study film.
