Thailand’s Rolling Loud music festival was a huge success with exciting performances from hip-hop artists such as Playboi Carti, Lil Wayne and A$AP Rocky.
However, the weekend certainly didn’t go by without some drama. While rapper Wiz Khalifa appeared on stage during the afterparty at Pattaya’s Club 808, a fan wanted to show his appreciation for the exclusive “Black & Yellow” performance by throwing many dollars to the stage.
Khalifa did not find the gesture flattering at all when he called his fans to the stage. “I want to show love to everyone, but there’s someone I need to talk to. This guy here, stop throwing money on stage. I’m not a stripper,” he scolded and added, ” You throw money at the dancers, you don’t throw money at Wiz Khalifa.”
Excited fans were quick to apologize for the incident while Khalifa returned his money. Although it appeared to be a matter of different cultural customs, the Khalifa found it deeply offensive, implying that he was in need of financial support.
Luckily, his set during the festival was memorable enough to surpass the movie. He performed the emotional song “See You Again” as a tribute to fallen artists like XXXTentacion, DMX, Juice WRLD and Mac Miller.

This is not the first time Khalifa has encountered trouble abroad. The 37-year-old rapper made headlines after smoking marijuana on stage at Beach, Please! Festival in Costinesti, Romania. Romanian law prohibits the recreational and medical use of marijuana, leading to the rapper being arrested after his performance.
Although he was soon released, prosecutors from the country’s Directorate for the Investigation of Organized Crime and Terrorism (DIICOT) completed their investigation and indicted the rapper, charging him with possession of 18 .53 grams of marijuana.
