Zothile Langa, popularly known as Solo, was born and raised in Diepkloof, Soweto.
He was born on July 20, 1988.

Zothile was very passionate about music, even in school. In 2005, he completed his high school education and was admitted to the University of Johannesburg.
There, he majored in accounting but never graduated due to his decision to drop out. He went on to pursue a career as a musical artist.

The South African rapper released his first album, No Shades of Grey, in 2010, which received a 4/5 review from Hype Magazine. Two years later, he released another single, Bad, and subsequently signed with Kabomo Vilakazi’s Grey Dreaming Records and established a record label.
