Early life
Pallo Jordan was born on the 22nd day of May 1942 to Professor Archibald Campbell Jordan and Professor Phyllis Ntantala-Jordan.
He was raised by these two great scholars, who were at that time active members of the Extra-European Unity Movement against apartheid. As a young man, he was a strong opponent of Apartheid.

Pallo Jordan studied at the University of Wisconsin–Madison in the United States and at the London School of Economics (LSE).

Career
Pallo Jordan is an active member of the African National Congress (ANC). In 1985, he was elected to the ANC’s National Executive Committee (ANC).
e has served in various capacities as administrative secretary, Convener of their Strategy and Tactics Committee, and a member of the NEC’s subcommittee on constitutional negotiations and guidance , and finally, as their directors are informative and public.
In 1990, he returned to South Africa and was elected to the National Assembly as a member of parliament as a representative of the African National Congress. He has held various ministerial positions, including
- Minister of Posts, Telecommunications and Broadcasting (1994–1996)
- Minister of Environment and Tourism (1996–1999)
- Chairman of the National Assembly’s Foreign Affairs Committee (1999-2004)
- Minister of Arts and Culture (2004—2009)He is also a writer and the author of some of his works includes The Journal of Moses Kotone, African Revolutionaries (1974), The Soweto Uprising, an analysis (1976), The African Petty Bourgeoisie: A NAFCOC Case Study (1984), Soviet South African Policy – with specific reference to South Africa: Some Notes (1990) . His work criticized apartheid in South Africa at the time.
Personal life
In 2009, a newspaper investigation revealed that Pallo Jordan had falsified his academic records claiming that he had received a doctorate in philosophy (Ph.D.) and for a period of time Long used the title Doctor (Doctor) along with his name. It was revealed that he never completed his degree at Wisconsin-Madison.
As a result, he resigned from the African National Congress after apologizing for falsifying his results. He was also fired from his position as Business Day columnist of a famous South African newspaper.
Regardless of the forgery, Pallo Jordan is still loved and admired by the African National Congress political party. He has a primary school named after him (Dr. Pallo Jordan Primary School) in the town of Lady Gray in the Eastern Cape Province.
