Innocent Ujah Idibia (18 September 1975) better known by his stage name 2Baba, is a Nigerian Afrobeat singer, songwriter, composer, producer and philanthropist.

He is also a businessman, humanitarian and social activist. He is considered one of the most famous singers in the African music industry.

Early life

Innocent Idibia, also known as 2Baba, was born in Jos, Nigeria.

He is a native of the Idoma ethnic group in southern Benue State. During his formative years, he attended Mount St. Gabriel Secondary School in Makurdi, Benue State.

He furthered his studies at the Institute of Management & Technology (IMT), Enugu where he obtained a National Diploma in Business Administration and Management. During his school days, he performed at organized shows and parties.

He later dropped out of school to pursue a music career. It is believed that in 1996, he adopted the stage name 2face (Tuface).

He explained that the reason he chose that name was trying to separate my personal life from my business lifeBut in 2016, he officially changed his stage name from Tuface to 2Baba.

2Baba attended Mount St. Gabriel Secondary School in Makurdi, Benue State.

Career

After he left and Plantashun Boyz disbanded in 2004, all the band members pursued their own musical careers due to some internal disputes. He then released his debut solo album, Face 2 Face in 2004, which established him as a potentially successful solo artist.

He then released his second album, Grass 2 Grace in 2006. He is the founder of the record label HYPERTEK ENTERTAINMENT.

He was also signed to Kennis Music but left and formed Hypertek Entertainment. He is part of the Sony All African One Project along with seven other African artists.

2Baba is also an ambassador for several brands including Guinness, Nigerian Breweries and many more. In 2019, 2Baba became the first and official brand ambassador for Oraimo.

2Baba is married to award-winning Nigerian actress and model, Annie Macaulay-idibia. They tied the knot on May 2, 2012 in Lagos, Nigeria in a private ceremony.

They also held their wedding in Dubai, UAE on March 23, 2013 and it was attended by many celebrities. They are blessed with two daughters, Olivia Idibia and Isabella Idibia.
