Early life

50 Cent was born to Sabrina Jackson (mother) and Curtis James Jackson Jr. (dad). He came into the world on July 6, 1975. He was born and raised in the South Jamaica neighborhood of Queens, New York City.

He is the only child of his parents. His mother, Sabrina Jackson, died in a fire accident when he was eight years old. After his mother’s death, he was raised by his grandmother.

From the age of eleven, he began practicing boxing, and by the age of fourteen, he began to regularly attend the local youth boxing gym in his community. He adopted the nickname 50 Cent as a metaphor for change.
