A politician from Nigeria, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq was born on February 5, 1960 and has been the governor of Kwara State since 2019.
Prior to that, he was the Managing Director of First Fuels Limited. He campaigned unsuccessfully for the governorship of Kwara State under the Congress for Progressive Change political party in 2003, 2007 and 2011, losing to Abubakar Bukola Saraki in each of those years and to Abdulfatah Ahmed in 2011.
But he ran again in 2019 as a representative of Nigeria’s ruling party, the All Progressives Congress, which is currently in power.
He was elected as the new governor of Kwara state after winning the state’s 2019 gubernatorial election. In 2021, he introduced KwaraLEARN into basic education to give teachers more power.

Early life
He was born in Ilorin West Local Government. AbdulRahman’s father, Alh. AGF AbdulRazaq SAN, was the first Northern lawyer in Nigeria.
He attended Capital School in Kaduna from 1966 to 1968, Bishop Smith Memorial School in Ilorin from 1970 to 1971, and Government College in Kaduna from 1976 to 1976, when he is said to have completed the West African Senior Secondary Certificate Examination (WASSCE).
Career
He entered politics in 1999 when Nigeria returned to democracy. As a member of the Congress for Progressive Change (CPC), he unsuccessfully ran for governor of Kwara State in 2011.
He also campaigned unsuccessfully on the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) platform for Kwara Central Senatorial District in 2011 and 2015.
He won the All Progressives Congress Party primary in Kwara state in October 2018.
He was appointed governor of Kwara state on March 9 this year and assumed office on May 29.
