Sir Alexander Chapman Ferguson CBE, former Scottish football manager, was born on 31 December 1941 in Govan, Glasgow, United Kingdom. Ferguson is the son of Elizabeth (née Hardie) and Alexander Beaton Ferguson. His father was a shipyard’s apprentice.
Ferguson has a younger brother, Martin Ferguson, who also became a professional footballer. He attended Broomloan Road Primary School and then Govan High School. Ferguson is Scottish and Catholic.
Career
Alex Ferguson began his playing career in Scotland, playing for clubs such as Queen’s Park, St. Johnstone, Dunfermline Sports, Forest Ranger, FalkirkAnd Ayr USA.
