Ali also spoke about returning to the theater after the COVID pandemic and the complete shutdown of theaters. “Certainly the first couple of shows, it didn’t feel like it was happening. It felt like a weird time warp. It felt like everyone in the audience really wanted to be there. It was really cool. It was great to perform in front of people who really appreciate the luxury of being in a group and enjoying a story,” she shared.
To study, Ali went to Yale and the California Institute of the Arts. She singled out Yale for its history and because she wanted to “be able to do as much theater” as she wanted.
Before entering university, she studied piano for 11 years. She also enjoys gymnastics.
