Career
Ali Williams had a prolific rugby union career, playing 77 test matches for the New Zealand national team, the All Blacks.
He has played in three Rugby World Cups – 2003, 2007 and 2011 – and helped the All Blacks win the 2011 World Cup.
Williams was named one of the five players of the year by the New Zealand Rugby Almanack in 2005. He played primarily for the Blues provincial team but also had a spell with the Crusaders.
With the Blues, he won the Super 12 title in 2003. Williams played primarily for Auckland at club level, having briefly represented Tasman.
Williams also had loan spells at Nottingham Forest in the English Second Division during his career. He also had a brief spell in France with Toulon from 2013 to 2015. Williams then made a brief return in 2016/17 with French club Racing 92.
