Disney and Star Wars have created an impressive line of Legacy Lightsabers available in the parks as well as online. Inspired by the elegant weapons wielded by major Sith and Jedi characters across the Skywalker saga and beyond, there’s a type of lightsaber for every kind of fan from all over the Star Wars timeline. However, not every lightsaber has been sold at the same time due to the sheer number of blades that have been made in recent years.
Disney’s Legacy Lightsabers were produced in conjunction with the opening of Disneyland and Disneyworld’s Star Wars-themed land Galaxy’s Edge in 2019, offering detailed collectible sabers for guests beyond the custom lightsaber-making experience featured at “Savi’s Workshop”. While some of these initial blades have since been retired, a good number and variety of lightsaber colors have made their way to ShopDisney.com in the years that have followed, including limited edition box sets and more. One of Disney’s newer additions to the Legacy Lightsaber line celebrating Return of the Jedi’s 40th anniversary, Luke Skywalker’s green-bladed lightsaber is currently available at Dok-Ondar’s Den of Antiquities located at Galaxy’s Edge. This was the same blade used by Luke in both The Mandalorian, The Book of Boba Fett, and The Last Jedi’s key flashback featuring the Jedi Master and his apprentice Ben Solo.

Luke Skywalker
The son of Anakin Skywalker and Padmé Amidala, Luke was brought up on the desert planet Tatooine. Initially mentored by Obi-Wan Kenobi, Luke fired the fateful shot that destroyed the Death Star, and he became a rebel hero. Despite the fears of Obi-Wan and Yoda, Luke’s faith in his father was proved well-founded when Vader returned to the light. With the Emperor defeated, Luke dedicated himself to bringing back the Jedi; his first attempt ended in tragedy due to Palpatine’s manipulations, but Luke’s legacy lives on in Rey.

While it was originally featured in a limited edition Revenge of the Sith box set which also came with Obi-Wan Kenobi’s lightsaber, Anakin Skywalker’s lightsaber has since been sold individually at Dok-Ondar’s. Unlike future versions of the Skywalker saber, Anakin’s lightsaber notably has some unique elements including the middle component’s silver grip texture surrounding the activation button.

Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader
Conceived by the will of the Force itself, Anakin Skywalker was the prophesied Chosen One, destined to bring the Force into balance. Anakin struggled to balance competing attachments to the Jedi Order and his wife Padmé Amidala, and ultimately fell to the dark side, becoming Darth Vader. For years he served as Palpatine’s right hand man, but he was ultimately redeemed by the faith of his son, Luke Skywalker. Now a Force Ghost, Anakin continues to act as an agent of balance.

Mace Windu
One of the most prominent Jedi during the prequel era, Mace Windu served as a crucial member of the Jedi Council, considered second only to Yoda himself. Windu was a remarkable figure among the Jedi, having turned his own temptation toward the dark side to his advantage, even creating a new lightsaber form known as Vaapad. Mace ultimately failed in his mission to protect the Jedi, apparently killed by Palpatine and Anakin Skywalker at the end of the Clone Wars.

Although it has since been retired, Ben Solo’s original Jedi lightsaber when he was still Luke’s apprentice was quite an exciting addition to Disney’s Legacy Lightsaber line. It’s also been confirmed that this was the same hilt Solo would later modify after he became Kylo Ren, adding crossguard exhaust vents which were needed to maintain the stability of his red kyber crystal that had been cracked.

Ben Solo/Kylo Ren
The son of Han Solo and Leia Organa, Ben was manipulated by Palpatine through the Force for most of his life, influenced toward the dark side of the Force. A misstep by Luke Skywalker ultimately left Ben feeling he had no choice but to embrace the dark side, and he became Kylo Ren, a key figure in the First Order. Kylo Ren’s heart remained deeply divided, however, even after he ascended to become Supreme Leader of the First Order. He was ultimately redeemed by Rey, with whom he shared a remarkable Force bond, and by the love of his parents.

The curved lightsaber wielded by Count Dooku is one of the more unique Sith lightsabers seen in the prequel trilogy and the Clone Wars. Available at Dok-Ondar’s, Dooku’s lightsaber was inspired by the sword of Charlemagne, of whom Christopher Lee (who played Dooku) was a direct descendant.
Count Dooku
The apprentice of Master Yoda, Count Dooku’s interest in prophecy and ancient Jedi texts led him inexorably to the dark side. He somehow discovered the existence of the Sith, and became Palpatine’s apprentice after the death of Darth Maul. Dooku’s inherited title as Count of Serenno gave him vast political influence, which he used as leader of the Separatist movement during the Clone Wars. He was ultimately killed by Anakin Skywalker, realizing too late that Palpatine had tricked him.

Darth Maul
Palpatine’s apprentice, Darth Maul was nothing more than a tool to winnow down the ranks of the Jedi ahead of Darth Sidious’ true plans. Discarded after he was defeated by Obi-Wan Kenobi on Naboo, Darth Maul swore revenge against all those he blamed for his past struggles – Jedi and Sith alike. Maul tended to operate within the shadows, running various syndicates, and even established himself as a true rival for Palpatine on at least one occasion. He was eventually killed by Obi-Wan in a duel on Tatooine.

Hailing from the Nightsisters of Dathomir, Asajj Ventress became Count Dooku’s apprentice during the Clone Wars. Betrayed by her master, she sought revenge – even forming a surprising alliance with Jedi Master Quinlan Vos at one point. Asajj has reinvented herself as a bounty hunter, and survived into the Dark Times of the Empire’s reign.
