Avicii’s father reveals desperate efforts to save the producer’s life before his 2018 suicide

Avicii died by suicide at the age of 28 in 2018, and now his father is revealing the last ditch effort he ever made to save his son’s life.

A new Netflix documentary titled Avicii — I’m Tim is currently streaming on the platform and Klas Bergling shares that he once tried to save his son’s life by staging an intervention for the producers.

“When he got close, he could see all of us there. It was excruciatingly painful to see the look in his eyes. Oh my god, it was really difficult,” Bergling said. Everybody. “Then everyone shared how worried they were and Tim… at first, he was pretty angry.”

Despite his efforts to help his son, Bergling shared that Avicii initially would not accept the help offered to him until he gave in a few hours later.

“He refused to give in. But finally something made him say: ‘Okay, I’ll get help.’ I said, ‘Okay, thank you.’ It was finally recorded. We are very excited. I think he realized it was time to do something,” Bergling said.

Although he initially did not accept help from his father, Avicii shares in the film’s voiceover that he began seeing doctors and psychiatrists and tried to change his life to help yourself.

“I’m trying to find a balance,” Avicii said. Balance in life, with friends and family.”

At one point, he noted that he was “really happy” after finding balance. However, it didn’t last and he committed suicide in April 2018 while in Muscat, Oman.

His father was devastated when he found out and shared that “none of us imagined something like this could happen.”
