Azealia Banks isn’t holding back when it comes to rap rival Doechii and her sudden rise to fame.
On X, Banks responded to another user saying that Doechii is one of the best rappers today. That’s when Banks claimed Doechii was being “burned” and “hired DEI” due to the color of her skin.
“Absolutely not. Lmao. She got the poem def jam slam newyorican cafe music/TDE damn writing. It gives DEI [Diversity, equity and inclusion] rent. Everyone convinces themselves that she’s good because she’s dark-skinned and if you tell the truth and admit that she’s boring – you automatically become a colorist or whatever,” Banks tweeted.
She elaborated on her choice for today’s top female rapper, Asian Doll.
“Asian doll is dark and beautiful, her music is fiery and Asia has been hot for ONE MINUTE. The girls don’t want to give her a 10 because they’re all jealous envy her, she’s the FAB king,” Banks added.

She also shared that Cupcakke would probably be another one in the race for the title of best rising female rapper today.

“I really wish she was awesome so I could agree with all of you in saying I’m a creep but……. That’s not giving away, and all the b–ts in the industry all agree. Lmao the gays are saying she looks like a bag of rocks,” Banks’ statement concluded.
Over the past year, Doechii has risen to superstardom and received attention from fellow musicians such as Billie Eilish, SZA, etc.
“Yea doechii is my favorite artist. Seriously this genre,” SZA said of the rapper.

Doechii made a major awards show appearance in 2024 thanks to Katy Perry’s collaboration, “I’m His, He’s Mine” at the 2024 MTV Video Music Awards.
