Early life and education
Abdul Rahman, Citizen of Ghana, was born on July 2, 1994, in the vibrant city of Tamale. Raised under the guidance of parents who preferred to maintain privacy and were known to the public as Mr. and Mrs. Rahman, Abdul’s childhood remained shrouded in mystery and there was no mention of any siblings.
His educational journey began at Our Lady of Fatima Secondary School, where he took his first steps towards knowledge. Continuing to pursue his education, Abdul then attended Young Dakpem’yili Secondary School in the bustling town of Tamale.
Career
Baba Rahman’s career began at Dreams FC in Ghana Division Two. Due to his excellent performances, he was later loaned to Asante Kotoko in the Ghana Premier League for one season. In 2012, Rahman was a finalist for the Discovery of the Year Award in the tournament, but unfortunately, he lost to Joshua Oninku.
Rahman joined Greuther Fürth, a German Bundesliga club, in 2012 without paying a transfer fee. With his impressive performances, he became a regular starter for the team and played 34 matches in his first season. Additionally, Rahman played a key role in Fürth’s success as they won promotion to the Bundesliga in his second season with the club.
Rahman’s impressive performances in the Bundesliga attracted the attention of some of Europe’s top clubs, leading to him moving to Chelsea in 2015 for a fee of £14 million, which could rise 22 million pounds. He was initially expected to become the club’s first-choice left-back but unfortunately suffered a serious knee injury in just his second match, forcing him to sit out for the remainder of the season.
Over the next few years, Rahman began playing on loan at clubs such as FC Schalke 04, Stade de Reims, RCD Mallorca and Reading. Although he faced challenges in regaining full fitness and form, he demonstrated his exceptional skills.
In July 2021, Rahman moved to Greek Super League team PAOK on a free transfer. Since then, he has consistently appeared as a starter for the club, amassing 54 appearances over two seasons and contributing to their Greek Cup victory in 2022.

Personal life
Rahman, 29, a talented football player, proudly printed the word “Baba” on the back of his shirt as a tribute to his father, who always supported Chelsea. In a touching ceremony held in his hometown of Tamale in northern Ghana, Rahman and his childhood sweetheart Selma exchanged vows and became husband and wife in May 2016.
Despite his busy schedule competing in Europe, Rahman always finds time to give back to his community in Tamale through various charity activities. Although they have been happily married for a while, Rahman and Selma have not yet welcomed any children.
