Russell Horning, popularly known as Backpack Kid, is an American dancer, rapper, and social media personality. He was raised by his mother, Anita Redd, in Lawrenceville, Georgia. He also has a younger sister named Jill.

Backpack Kid is currently focusing on his music and dance career and is a role model for many of his peers in Georgia. He used to take dance classes but dropped out after a month due to personal reasons.
Career
The prodigy rose to fame after posting videos of himself dancing on Instagram. In 2016, one of his dance videos went viral, catching the attention of many music artists and icons in the US.
That same year, Rihanna posted his dance moves on her Instagram page to increase his followers. He was also tagged 700,000 times on Instagram a year earlier.
In 2017, he was invited by Katy Perry to dance to her hit song “Swiss” on Saturday Night Live. He then went on to create a viral hashtag – #IGotSkillsChallenge – before teaming up with dancers Maleo Bowles and Benny Imprint.
His signature move is popularly known as the Flossing and has been performed by football stars and other athletes. It has also appeared in games and commercials in recent times.

Backpack Kid is also a rapper and released the song Flossing in collaboration with DJ Suede. He also released his four-song debut EP titled Swag Pack Kid on his 17th birthday.
