Early life and education
Tristan Thompson, now 33, was born on March 13, 1991, in Brampton, Ontario, Canada. He is the eldest of four sons of Trevor and Andrea Thompson, both of Jamaican descent.
Thompson grew up with a passion for soccer and basketball and attended St. Marguerite d’Youville Secondary School in Brampton.
He then transferred to Saint Benedict Preparatory School in Newark, New Jersey, where he excelled in basketball and academics. ESPN ranked him the fourth best high school player in the United States in 2010.
