She was initially just an extra, but when host Hugh Hefner fell in love with Barbie Benton, she was immediately promoted to co-host.

After four seasons on Hee Haw, Barbie Benton left the show to pursue a more Hollywood career, with roles in films including the horror film Hospital Massacre and the short-lived 1977 ABC-TV comedy Candy Time!, about an aspiring all-girl rock band (1982).
