In 2013, he appeared on two J. Cole songs: “The New York Times” with 50 Cent on Cole’s Born Sinner album, and “Hell’s Kitchen” with DJ Khaled on the Suffering from Success album.
He later appeared on the Dreamville compilation mixtape, Revenge of the Dreamers. As Dreamville was working with Interscope Records, Bas signed with Interscope Records to mark the release of the mixtape. Two weeks before the release of his debut album, Last Winter, he gave away a free EP titled Two Weeks Notice.
Bass performed as part of the What Dreams May Come Tour in January 2014. On April 29, 2014, Dreamville Records and Interscope Records released the Last Winter album. The album is a conceptual work that includes references to the cold days in New York City where it was recorded.
The single “My Nigga Just Made Bail”, produced by GP808 and featuring J. Cole, became a promotional tool for the album. “Last Winter” sold 3,600 copies in its first week and ranked 103rd on the Billboard 200 chart.
After the album was released, Bass embarked on a 10-city tour across the country based on the album. After the Last Winter tour, he embarked on a 24-city national and international tour with TDE rapper Ab-Soul.
In 2015, he assisted J. Cole on the song “2014 Forest”. Bas participated in J. Cole’s 2014 Forest Hills Drive Tour with Big Sean, YG, Omen and Cozz.
It was this effort that led him to release his second album, Too High to Riot, on March 4, 2016. His labelmates J. Cole, Cozz and The Hics also made guest appearances on the album.
The album sold 10,965 copies in its first week and peaked at number 49 on the Billboard 200. Each song on the album has a music video which the artist later released.
In June 2016, Bass embarked on a tour in conjunction with the album, along with Cozz and EarthGang. The tour played in 26 cities in North America and 10 cities in Europe. On January 29, 2017, a documentary about the tour was released on Tidal.
On April 10, 2018, Bas released the one-shot song Pinball II in collaboration with Correy C.
He released his second single, “Tribe”, on August 22. The song features J. Cole. Following the success of his second album, he released his third album, “Milky Way”, on August 24, 2018. The album sold 13,150 copies in its first week and debuted at number 35 on the Billboard 200 chart.
Bass planned a 43-city tour to promote the album, which began in November 2018 and ended in February 2019. He announced in late 2018 that he was working on an album with The Hics. The album is scheduled to be released in late 2021 or early 2022.
