The Christmas Day halftime show at NRG Stadium left Beyoncé in hot water after suffering a wardrobe malfunction following her highly anticipated performance.
The 43-year-old Grammy Award-winning singer performed her 13th album Cowboy Carter, which quickly rose to the top of the charts after its release earlier this year.
It was Beyoncé’s first public performance since her husband Jay-Z was hit with damaging allegations and she was accompanied on stage by fellow artists Tanner Adell, Tiera Kennedy, Reyna Roberts and Brittney Spencer.
As millions watched the Baltimore Ravens’ 31-2 rout of the Houston Texans — and the halftime show — not all viewers sang a duet.
According to DailyMail, the performance was called “abysmal” by Dave Portnoy, owner of Barstool Sports, among others.
But Beyoncé seemed unfazed by the outrage, as she was later seen leaving the field in tears of joy.
Beyoncé had difficulty wearing her jacket after the performance, this moment quickly became the center of attention on social networks.
The video shows her trying to tuck her right arm into her jacket as group members quickly rush to help her. She walked away from the mic several times in defeat, then clapped for herself, then wiped away her tears.
Finally, a staff member dressed her completely.
Changing direction to more positive comments, fans took to social networks to praise Beyoncé’s performance despite the rave reviews.
Meanwhile, former WNBA star Serena Williams said, “Honestly, there can never be enough friends,” while ESPN analyst Kendrick Perkins added, “Beyoncé slayed it.”
Arguably, even the official NFL account called it the “Best Christmas Ever.”
Beyoncé’s daughter, Blue Ivy, made a special appearance in a matching all-white outfit as she performed with her mother on the show.
Bey and Jay’s eldest daughter has previously come to assist her mother with her dance moves during major performances and on tours.
