Bhekokwakhe Hamilton Cele (born 22 February 1952) commonly known as Bheki Cele is a South African politician.
He served as National Commissioner of the South African Police Service until his retirement in October 2011.
He currently serves as Minister of Police and was appointed to the position by President Cyril Ramaphosa in a cabinet reshuffle in February 2018.

Bheki Cele was born on February 22, 1952.
As of 2021, he is 69 years old. He was born and raised in the rural town of Umzumbe, South Africa.
He had a difficult childhood, which contributed greatly to his outspoken personality. He was a firsthand witness to the Apartheid regime in South Africa and was part of several protests.

Career
Bheki Cele is a member of the African National Congress (ANC) political party. He was the Member of the Executive Committee (MEC) for Transport, Safety and Security in the KwaZulu-Natal Province and held this position for five (5) years from 2004 to 2009. He has also held various positions and positions in the KwaZulu-Natal provincial government.
In 2009, he was appointed National Commissioner of the South African Police Service by President Jacob Zuma. He was suspended for mismanagement of funds and corruption in 2011.
After his suspension, his party, the African National Congress selected him as their preferred candidate to enter the South African parliament but unfortunately, he lost the election and remains a member of the National Executive Committee of the African National Congress party.
He was appointed Minister of Police by incumbent President Cyril Ramaphosa in 2018.

Bheki Cele married his sweetheart Thembeka Ngcobo in 2010 and their love has grown stronger, the marriage is still going strong unlike other politicians and celebrities in South Africa.
The couple officially tied the knot and exchanged vows on 2 October 2010 at Lynton Hall in KwaZulu-Natal, attended by prominent South African political and social figures and influential businessmen. After the lavish wedding ceremony, the couple officially tied the knot in a traditional ceremony at their bungalow.
He is always seen in public wearing a big hat. He is outspoken and controversial, and sparked anger among South Africans when he cancelled the most recent New Year’s Eve celebrations due to COVID-19.
He is actively against gun ownership and seeks to take gun ownership away from all South African citizens.
