Billie Eilish is being candid about her love life.
The singer gave an update on her love life in her eighth annual interview with Vanity Fair, where she reflects on the past year by reviewing her answers to similar questions from previous years.
While rating her 2023 goals by thumbs up or down, Billie enthusiastically gave her 22-year-old self a thumbs up hoping for “fun sex.”
Later in the video, Billie expands on her thoughts. “I did nothing but make friends all year and became close to people I had never met before and became friends again with people I was friends with,” she shares. “Just a year filled with friendship, honestly, even though I said a lot of things I wanted to do, it’s true…that’s what I wanted to do.”
“And yes, I’ve had a lot of good sex, so… you’re welcome, Billie!” she added.
Her candid comments came just two months after telling fashion magazine She is done discussing her private life.
“I wish no one knew anything about my sexuality or my dating life,” Billie said in October. I will never talk about it again.”
Eilish also admitted that she often underestimates the potential for her words to become sensational.
“I guess I also underestimated that what I said would be on the biggest news in the world. It’s just so unnatural. We’re all kids. We’re all kids growing up and learn by yourself,” she shared.
Her decision to scale back on sharing personal information comes after a revelation earlier this year that she discovered her attraction to women while writing the hit song “Lunch.”
“I wrote some of it before doing anything with a girl, and then wrote the rest after,” she said. Rolling Stone in April. “I’ve loved girls my whole life but I didn’t understand it – until last year I realized I wanted my face in my vagina.”
However, Billie said she never intended to publicly reveal her gender. “I never in a million years intended to talk about my sexuality,” she told the outlet. “I was really upset when it came out.”
