Billy Ray Cyrus is defending himself against attacks from his estranged wife following her recent interview. In response, the Grammy-winning singer has issued a cryptic, one-word statement against her.

On June 30, 2024, Cyrus posted a video on her Instagram Stories of a gold picture frame with the word “Fraud” written on it. Below the word, a candle flickered underneath while rose petals flew everywhere.

Earlier in the day, Cyrus shared a photo of himself riding a motorcycle behind a dog. He captioned the photo, “Happy Sunday everyone! Can’t believe I’ve heard the word LIAR so many times on a Sunday morning. I’m sure the truth will come out soon.”
Cyrus’ growing feelings appear to stem from his wife’s recent interview with Page Six.
According to the Australian singer, Cyrus kicked him out of their shared home on the day she was scheduled to undergo a double mastectomy. She also revealed that Cyrus has “very strict rules,”
“I don’t have a car. I’m only allowed to go to the local chiropractor and I’m only allowed to get my nails done once a month… it’s systematic isolation and I can’t find the courage to leave,” Firerose added. “If I have to send a text, I have to read it out loud to him to get permission. Same with emails.”

Cyrus quietly filed for divorce on May 22, 2024. According to court documents obtained by People, Cyrus listed “irreconcilable differences and inappropriate marital behavior” as the reasons for their divorce.

Notably, Cyrus also filed for an annulment on the grounds of fraud. Sources close to Cyrus told People that the country singer is breaking up with Firerose because “she’s not the person he thought he was marrying.”
“He believes she married him for reasons other than love,” the insider alleged. “He believes she married him so he could take care of her financially. They had drama and trust issues over money.”
On June 14, 2024, TMZ obtained legal documents showing that Firerose spent the money on 37 unauthorized charges during that time. Firerose reportedly used Cyrus’s corporate American Express card, which it was revealed she never had permission to use or process.
Cyrus then filed a temporary restraining order against Firerose, preventing her from using credit cards in his name. He even demanded that Firerose pay him the full amount.
