When Amad was 10 years old, he and his brother moved to Italy with their parents in search of a better life and opportunities for their children.
They settled in Bibbiano, a small town in the province of Reggio Emilia, where they joined the local football academy called Boca Barco.
They impressed coaches and scouts there with their skill and passion for the game. Amad was particularly noted for his speed, agility and flair, and he soon attracted the attention of bigger clubs, such as Juventus, Inter Milan and Atalanta.
Amad joined Atalanta’s youth system in 2015 at the age of 13. He quickly progressed through the ranks and became a key player for the U17 and U19 teams. He helped Atalanta win two Campionato Primavera 1 titles, Italy’s highest level of youth football, in 2019 and 2020.
