Also, in the same year, Birgit Schuurman starred in a video called “Abel’s Onderweg” and began hosting a TV show on Fox Kids. In 2001, she had her final breakthrough with the song “I Know” and subsequently released an album called “Few Like Me”.

Birgit Schuurman combines her activities with a tour sponsored by the Lenny Kravitz Tribute Shows. In this direction, she recorded a cover of the Skunk Anansie classic “Weak” for the soundtrack of the film “Liever verliefd” in 2002; however, the song did not chart.

12 years after the release of her last album, True Stories I Made Up, Birgit Schuurman was inspired again to write and record new songs. So she started working on her new album privately in 2016.

This was relatively easy as she had no expectations and was free to create. The first single, titled “Fuel My Fire”, became the opening track of the album, which was released on September 27, 2017.

She spent the rest of 2017 back in the studio recording the remaining songs that will likely appear on her new album.

The song “Stranded” is the second song from the album and was released in December 2017. In early 2018, Birgit released a pop track titled “Amplify”.
