She grew up in a Christian family in the small Dutch town of Bunnik. She holds Dutch nationality.

Birgit Schulmann began her singing career a few years before graduating. Her first attempts to enter the music industry ended in failure with R&B and dance projects. In 1995, she also sang in the band Jeunes Turcs together with her sister Katja Schulmann.

The song “Stranded” is the second song from the album and was released in December 2017. In early 2018, Birgit released a pop track titled “Amplify”.

The album, entitled A Fool for Love, will be Birgit Schuurman’s most autobiographical record to date. It was released on March 28 at the Melkweg Concert Hall in Amsterdam. However, Brigit continues to appear on various TV shows.
