Blaqbonez Biography
Emeka Akumefule Known by his stage name Blaqbonez, is a 28-year-old Nigerian rapper, singer, word warrior, rap fighter and songwriter.
Born in Lagos, one of the commercial states in Nigeria, on January 29, 1996. He is also signed to 100 Crown, an affiliate of Chocolate City.
Blaqbonez is known for his unique dressing style and controversy; for example, he was once hailed as “the best rapper in Africa” (BRIA).
Music career
Blaqbonez began his music career at the age of 13 after being exposed to Yoruba and Urhobo subcultures in Nigeria.
His entry into the music industry was purely accidental, he discovered his talent while listening to a radio show with his cousin, he then took up the challenge to write his own lyrics based on the songs his cousin played on the radio, and he did it.
When he found his own talents and passions, he pursued his career secretly and hard without the support of his parents.
It is worth noting that Blaqbonez started out as a text warrior on Facebook before deciding to record his own songs.
He rose to fame after winning Terry Tha Rapman’s Zombie contest, which led to his collaboration with Terry on the album “World Domination” which also featured Olamide, Vector (rapper), Mode 9, Spellz and others and was released in 2012.
Five years ago, Blaqbonez featured Terry The Rapman in one of his productions, came second in Vector’s (rapper) King Kong competition, won The Rhythm FM Freestyle Fury, and became Rhythmfm’s Artist of the Month.
He is the captain of Hennessy vs Class, a member of Soundcity’s breakout band Cypher, and has released the highly anticipated mixtape “CTAT; Cassette, Tapes, and Tvs”, which has over 60,000 streams and downloads, and is his third mixtape after Hip-hop in Blaq and the “Unfinished EP”.
