Liesl Laurie was born on December 24, 1990 in Johannesburg, South Africa. She was raised by her mother and grandmother.

Her mother, Karen Laurie, was a low-paid high school teacher.
On the other hand, her grandmother was also a teacher; her grandmother was also a founding member of the group POCCO. Liesl Laurie was raised with her older sister, identified only as Michaela Laurie.
Education
Liesl Laurie completed her primary and secondary education at an unspecified school in her hometown of Johannesburg, but she holds a bachelor’s degree and an honours degree in commerce from the University of Johannesburg.

Liesl Laurie was once romantically linked to a male rapper named Tebogo Thekisho aka ProVerb; they dated for only three years before going their separate ways for reasons known only to them.
Liesl Laurie finally found her match a few months after breaking up with ProVerb. She met Musa Mthombeni at an event; they eventually became friends. Knowing that there was some chemistry between them, they decided to take their friendship to the next level.
The couple eventually got married after a year of courtship; Musa Mthombeni and Liesl Laurie spent their honeymoon at Mosaic Lagoon Lodge on the coast of Cape Whale. It is rumoured that she is working with Maps Maponyane.

Career
Liesl Laurie first appeared in a beauty pageant when she was just 19 years old. According to Liesl Laurie, modeling is something that resonates with her soul. She says that beauty pageants have a way of speaking to her.
In March 2015, this girl won the Miss South Africa crown. She became the successor of the famous Zipozakhe Zokufa, beating all 11 finalists. The event was so big that the 2015 Miss World titleholder (Rolene Strauss) also attended.
That same year, she also participated in the Miss World pageant in Sanya, China, making it to the top 10 finalists, but unfortunately, she was eliminated from the competition; this achievement made her the continental queen of Africa.
In 2010, Liesl Laurie won the Miss Soweto beauty pageant. Liesl Laurie also became the face of Mamelodi Sundowns in 2014.
