Bob Mortimer was born on 23 May 1959 in Middlesbrough, making him 64 years old as of 2023. He is the youngest of three brothers, and his father died in a car accident when he was seven years old.
Mortimer attended King’s Manor School in Middlesbrough, where he was an avid football fan. He tried out for local side Middlesbrough Football Club but gave up his football dream due to early onset arthritis.
