Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu (born 12 February 1982), popularly known as Bobi Wine, is a Ugandan politician, singer, businessman and actor. Formerly a Member of Parliament representing Kyadondo District East constituency in Wakiso District, located in the Central region of Uganda, he currently leads the National Unity Platform political party.

He has proven versatile, making his mark in Ugandan politics, music, acting and business. A member of the Ugandan Parliament since 2017, he has been actively involved in politics.

As leader of the People Power, Our Power movement, Bobi Wine attracted a large following and became a strong critic of President Yoweri Museveni. He said that his outspoken views and support for change had widespread support among Ugandans seeking reform and progress.

Personal life

Bobi Wine, at 42, first met his wife, Barbie Kyagulanyi, when she was a Bweranyangi Girls High School pupil. After 11 years together, they officially married in August 2011. The couple has four children together: Solomon Kampala Nyanzi Kyagulanyi, Shadraq Shilling Mbogo Kyagulanyi, Shalom Namagembe Kyagulanyi and Suubi Shine Nakaayi Kyagulanyi.
