Bonang Matheba was born on 25 June 1987. She is from Mafikeng in South Africa.

She was born to Charlotte Mokoena, Executive Vice President of Human Resources and Corporate Affairs at Sasol, and Gampi Matheba, a senior lecturer at North-West University.
She has two siblings, an older sister named Reabetswe Sechoaro and an older brother named Thabo Mokoena.
Bonang Matheba attended Fourways High School in Johannesburg. Fourways High School is a highly prestigious high school located in central South Africa.
Personal life
In 2012, it was reported that Bonang Matheba was in a relationship with a famous South African DJ simply identified as Euphonik. Soon after, it was reported that Euphonik was abusive and constantly attacking Bonang.
The incident got to the point where Bonang Dorothy sued her lover for assault, but she later dropped the charges against Euphonik after things were settled between them.
Although she faced backlash from netizens after she dropped the charges against Euphonik, her lover. Some netizens accused Bonang Matheba of fabricating stories against DJ Euphonik.
However, Bonang Matheba has publicly denied reports that she was trying to set Euphonik up. She said, “I never expected how badly I would be treated when my breakup story leaked. It was one of the most painful experiences, and sometimes I’m not sure how I survived.”
