Early life and education
Bose Ogulu is the son of veteran Nigerian broadcaster and music critic Benson Idoniye, widely known as the manager of renowned afrobeat musician Fela Kuti.
She was born on November 19, 1967 and is currently 56 years old. She attended the University of Port Harcourt where she obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Foreign Languages and a Master of Arts in Translation.
Her education contributed to her successful career as a translator for the Federation of West African Chambers of Commerce.

Fluent in several languages, namely English, French, German, Italian and Yoruba, Bose Ogulu founded and runs a language school called Language Bridges, through which she conducts cultural awareness programs for over 1,800 young people.
The educator is also known for teaching French at the University of Education Port Harcourt for about 10 years before retiring four years later in 2018.
Career
Bose Ogulu had a successful career as a language translator for the Federation of West African Chambers of Commerce, including as an educator teaching at the College of Education in Port Harcourt.
Her various academic pursuits prove that she has great values for education. Likewise, her good judgment in education has also helped her children get the best quality education as her star son, Damini Ogulu, who plays the role of ‘Burna Boy’, attended Corona Secondary School, which turned out to be one of the best secondary schools in Nigeria.
Bose Ogulu has also been linked to a management career as she managed Burna Boy’s son, including his youngest child, and her daughter in the UK, Nissi Ogulu, who is also into music. She managed Burna Boy’s music career until 2014.
After a brief break, she resumed her management work in 2017 and has been there ever since. She has also received awards on behalf of Burna Boy at various events, such as the All Africa Music Awards, Headies Awards, and MTV Europe Music Awards. In 2019, she interrupted her son’s show to announce that he had won the 2019 MTV Award for Best African Artist.
Furthermore, during the 2018 Sound City MVP Awards, Bose Ogulu represented Burna Boy when the artist won four awards that his mother had received. During the same event, Bose Ogulu caused an online stir by saying, “Expect more madness.”
The mother has always supported her son and often stood up for him as she did at the Bet Awards (2019) in California, USA. In her acceptance speech, she expressed her support for the black race in America and said, “You are African before you are anything else.” She received a standing ovation for her statement, which reminded African Americans of their roots.
Bose Ogulu is also the head of business and founder of Spaceship Collective, the parent company of Spaceship Records, the entertainment label Burna Boy is signed to, and Spaceship Publishing (publisher).
Personal life
Bose Ogulu married Samuel Ogulu from Ahoada in Rivers State in 1991 and they have been married for about 30 years.
The marriage has three children, Burna Boy, Ronami Ogulu and Nissi Ogulu. Born into a family of entertainers as her father is a former TV presenter, her children are also interested in the field in which they are now making their name.
