Brett Summers (born Audrey Dawn Johnston on July 11, 1924) is a Canadian-American entertainer, musician, actress and game show host. She is best known for her role as the pundit on the CBS game show Match Game and for her regular role as Blanche Madison on the television show Bachelorette.

early life
Brett Summers, who has many titles, was born Audrey Dawn Johnston on July 11, 1924, in Saint John, New Brunswick, Canada. Soon after her birth, her family moved to Portland, Maine, where she grew up.
At the age of 18, Brett Summers decided to move to New York City to pursue an acting career. She later settled in Greenwich Village, New York City, where she met her first husband.
According to records, her first name “Brett” was taken from the 1926 novel “The Sun Also Rises” written by American author Ernest Hemingway, while the actor’s last name “Summers” is said to be her mother’s surname.
