early life
Sarzeh hails from the South South region of the country. A native of Edo State, he was born and raised in Benin, the state capital.
He was born on March 17, 1989. He was born in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Osaretin. His parents named him Osabuohien Osaretin. The name Osabuohien means that he is “ambitious, fun and different”.
Born into a middle-class family, Saltz grew up in a less affluent community in Benin. As he grew up, his parents instilled in him good moral values such as humility, courage, generosity, respect for elders, and integrity.
Music became an inextricable bond with Saltz when he was a teenager. He was deeply influenced by the songs of Nigerian and foreign musicians. His love for music encompassed different genres such as R&B, Soul, Pop, Highlife, Juju, Reggae, Dancehall and Hip-Hop. He was exposed to this music by listening to songs on the radio or records played at home and in the homes of his neighbors.
However, his love for music did not lead him to sing. Instead, he focused on sound production, producing the beat that helps give the song its melody. After a stint in the local church choir, he began to learn sound production from an old friend of his neighborhood.
Saz spent hours practicing what he learned by tutoring friends, began to create his own beats, and mastered the art.
educate
During his childhood and teenage years, Saze received a quality education.
He received his primary and secondary education in the best public and private schools in Edo State.
After six years of study, he completed his high school education with distinction in the West African School Certificate Examination.
Profession
After graduating from high school, Saltz decided to pursue a career in professional music and began working in the art full time, a decision that led him to move to Lagos, the entertainment hub of West Africa.
Upon arriving in Lagos, he quickly demonstrated his talent and began building relationships with producers and musicians in the industry. At the age of 18, he collaborated with Lord Of Ajasa on the single “See Drama”, marking his first production. The song was released in 2007.
Since then, Sarz has continued to go strong in the industry, ranking among the top ten producers in the African music scene and mentoring other emerging sound producers to success.
At the beginning of his career, he signed with the music label Trybe Records and left the company in 2013 after his contract expired.
He has collaborated with numerous musicians to create many amazing works that have achieved great commercial and critical success. He has worked with artists such as Wurld, BNXN, Lojay, Obongjayar, Wizkid, Wande Coal, Naeto C, Banky W, Niniola, Shank, Skales, eLDee, Reminisce and YQ.
He has produced several hit singles such as “Mad”, “Monalisa”, “Jor Oh”, “Today Na Today”, “Kako Bi Chicken”, “Wash Wash”, “Salute” and “Hustle”.
He produced all the tracks on eLDee’s Undeniable album (except the single We Made It). He also produced the beats for two singles Jaiye Jaiye and Kilofe from Wizkid’s second album Ayo.
Sarz released his debut single Beat Of Life (Samba) featuring Wizkid. He also collaborated with Wurld to release the EP Trobul in 2019. The album was a 9-track project and included singles such as Trobul, Prisona, Focus, Sweat, Mad, Nobody Wins, Ego and Sade. In December 2019, he released another single Mad with Wurld.
In 2020, he released the EP “LV N ATTN” in collaboration with Lojay. The EP includes songs such as Tongongo, Monalisa and Girl. The project was a commercial success, helped launch Lojay’s career, and secured nominations for both artists at popular award shows.
