Cardi B calls for an investigation into a West Virginia prison for allegedly mistreating her best friend Star Brim

Cardi B recently voiced her displeasure over the way her best friend, Star Brim, was treated at a West Virginia correctional facility while serving her prison sentence.

The “Bodak Yellow” rapper shared details about Brim’s situation at the Federal Correctional Institution, Hazelton (FCI Hazelton) on her Instagram Story. She raised concerns about the facility, calling for an investigation as Brim had not sent letters for nearly two months and there was no heating in the cells.

According to the mother of two, Brim allegedly made efforts to contact the facility’s administrator and unit manager in hopes of discussing her release. However, there was no response from either, leaving Cardi B searching for answers.

“The Hazelton Women’s Correctional Facility in West Virginia needs to be investigated,” the rapper said. They’re playing with my friend’s star mail, there’s literally a federal violation and she didn’t get the mail because she didn’t have the mail, which makes no sense.”

“They had no heating in the prisoners’ rooms and the temperature was below zero, on top of that she wrote to the manager Mrs. Parrigan and the area manager Mr. McCall and they both ignored her when she was trying to talk to them about the halfway house and her letter!”

Cardi B revealed that Brim has been making efforts to contact her case manager, who has been missing for a month without any indication of when they will return.

The rapper also alleged that staff at the facility intentionally mistreated Brim due to her relationship with her.

“THEY ALL KNOW IT’S CONNECTED TO ME AND I FEEL THEY DO IT TO BE THAT GREAT!”

Brim received a sentence of one year and one day in custody, along with three years of supervised release for his involvement in the RICO case.

Brim admitted to being involved in criminal activities, and admitted participating in illegal activities related to the 5-9 Brims Blood gang.

In Vibe’s report on Brim’s RICO case, it was mentioned that Brim was identified as the main female character and “godmother” of the gang. The charges against her include accusations of staging a beheading and being involved in a conspiracy involving racketeering.

On the evening they surrendered to authorities on September 19, 2024, Cardi B and Brim shared a memorable evening, capturing moments together in an Instagram livestream.

The “WAP” rapper humorously likened the impending prison term to a “big girls school” while also acknowledging the presence of Brim’s children. She also expressed excitement for the new chapter that awaits Brim, saying, “everything is going to be brand new.”

Brim was instructed to report to a designated Bureau of Prisons facility by July 1, 2024. However, she pleaded with the judge for an extension, expressing her desire to accompany her son on the first day of school kindergarten class.
