Early life
In 1945, Carol Held Knight was born. She was the daughter of Rosario Cota and Victor Held.
Her parents, of Ukrainian and Polish origin, fled to Britain after the war from Czechoslovakia.

Their second wedding took place a few days later at the ‘San Ysidro Ranch’ in California, and it was a grand affair. Carol and Neil built their first home in California after their marriage and lived there for many years.
Carol Held Knight and Neil Armstrong spent their final years together in Indian Hill, Ohio. The couple had no children.
Sadly, Neil Armstrong passed away on August 25, 2012, following complications related to heart surgery he had undergone just days earlier.
