Chappell Roan causes outrage as he makes the premiere of Olivia Rodrigo’s ‘GUTS’ touring film ‘About Her’

Olivia Rodrigo had her friend Chappell Roan by her side for support as they and Laufey attended the premiere of the documentary chronicling her “GUTS” world tour.

The tour was launched to promote Rodrigo’s latest album of the same name, released in 2023, starting this year.

Roan accompanied Rodrigo on several dates, who acted as her opening act. The two musicians have a long professional relationship, having first met during Rodrigo’s “SOUR” tour in 2022.

Roan also opened for Rodrigo at that time and lent her vocals to three songs on the “GUTS” album.

However, Roan found herself embroiled in a heated confrontation on the red carpet, marking another incident after her famous dispute with a photographer at the MTV VMAs just a month earlier.

In a viral video capturing the moment, “Good luck, baby!” The male singer confronted the anonymous paparazzi, expressing: “You were too disrespectful to me at the Grammy Awards.”

“You were so disrespectful to me at the Grammy Awards. You yelled at me at the Grammy party,” she told the photographer. “Yes. Yes… At the Universal after party. I remember. You were so rude to me and I deserve an apology for that.”

“Yeah, yeah, that’s right. No no no. You need to apologize to me,” she continued.

After the video, it remained uncertain whether Roan would receive the apology she was seeking, but a team member intervened before any resolution was revealed.

Despite the excitement surrounding Rodrigo’s film debut, many social media users are still angry with the “Casual” singer for overshadowing the former Disney star’s standout moment.

@eternalcumslime said on X, “I can’t believe this hypocrite found a way to make Olivia Rodrigo’s tour premiere about her.”

@Triplefoul24 added, “If she hadn’t done this, I wouldn’t have even known that Olivia was coming out with a travel movie.”

@kairoyaltyy said of Roan, “this is her entire brand now.”

“this is so upsetting. You know, I understand trying to defend yourself but it’s hard to find any real authenticity in this when she knows people are watching and filming the she ‘confronted’ this man. This felt wrong to me,” @VIK19941 wrote.

@AsimKha98665237 scoffed, “Love how Olivia’s launch became a platform for Chappell to stand up for himself.”

@ConnorDaBarbie added, “She’s so miserable… doing that at a friends event…”

In addition to defending Roan, some supporters argued that her actions were justified given the disrespect she faced.

According to @melangas122, “i’m tired of celebrities pretending to be nice so they don’t get any backlash for it. i love that she’s not afraid to speak her mind no matter what no matter what.”

@americanreqiuem tweeted, “Honestly she is a breath of fresh air, more celebs should do this.”

@prdctoftheprblm continued, “It’s about time someone in the industry calls out those who are disrespectful,” while @spicy_ava wrote, “How she stands up for herself and fights back against the poor treatment people expect of her She would have to endure it just as part of the “deal” of being a singer… so inspiring.”
