Early life and education

Charles Denton Watson was born on December 2, 1945, in Dallas, Texas, United States. He was raised by his parents, Denton Watson and Elizabeth Watson. Charles is the youngest of three children, although details about the names of his siblings are unknown.

Charles graduated from Farmersville High School in Farmersville, Texas, where he was an honor roll student, editor of the school newspaper, and captain of the football team. After high school, he attended North Texas State University in Denton, Texas.

Tex Watson achieved considerable academic and athletic success during his high school years. After graduating, he took a job as a baggage handler for Braniff International Airlines.
