Early life and education
Cheryl Wee was born on 25 April 1987 in Singapore. She was raised by her parents, Jean Yip and Mervin Wee, who are the founders of the Jean Yip Group, a popular hair and beauty brand based in Singapore. Cheryl has two younger siblings, Rachel Wee and Russell Wee.
During her school years, Cheryl studied Art at Victoria Junior College (VJC) and was a member of the school’s dance team.
After completing her GCE A-Level exams, Cheryl moved to New York to study dance, theatre and singing. However, after six months, she returned to Singapore at her mother’s request, giving up on university studies.
Upon her return, Cheryl enrolled in the National University of Singapore (NUS) and graduated with a degree in Psychology. Cheryl is Singaporean and Catholic.
Career
Cheryl started her blogging journey in 2012, with her first post on March 12, 2012. However, as of June 1, 2020, her personal blog is no longer active.

On April 12, 2012, Cheryl released her debut album, “One Fine Day,” under the record label Music and Movement. Her aunt, Dawn Yip, a famous singer from the 1990s, helped produce the album.
