Christian Alfonso was born on September 5, 1963 in Brockton, Massachusetts, USA. His father is Gino Alfonso and his mother is Joanne Alfonso. He is of mixed race.
Her grandparents were both Italian-Americans from Sicily and Calabria. Christiane Alfonso has an older sister named Lisa Alfonso, with whom she claims to have a lot in common.
Christian Alfonso received her high school education at Brockton High School. After graduating from high school, she attended Massasoit Community College to complete her education.

Christian Alfonso married Simon Macaulay in 1987 and they divorced after ten years of marriage. In October 1990, they welcomed a son, Gino Macaulay.

Christiane Alfonso started out as a figure skater, winning a gold medal at the Junior Olympic Figure Skating Championships. She began modeling at age 13 after a bobsleigh accident ended her skating career.
By the time she was 15, she had appeared on the covers of more than 30 magazines, including Harper’s Bazaar and Vogue. In 1981, she made her television debut, starring opposite Rock Hudson in a film called The Star Maker.
