Cillian Murphy pays tribute to the late Peaky Blinders costume designer

The costume designer who created Peaky Blinders’ iconic looks, Stephanie Collie, has passed away at the age of 60 after battling cancer. She died on October 26, six months after her diagnosis. The cast and crew of the hit blockbuster are mourning the loss and expressing their condolences to those who have just passed away.

News of Collie’s death was shared by the official Instagram page with praise for the designer. The tragic news was immediately followed by a series of tributes.

A post on Peaky Blinders’ Instagram page read: ”We are saddened to hear of the passing of costume designer Stephanie Collie. Stephanie’s incredible work on our first series was key to the iconic look of Peaky Blinders and has gone on to inspire so many people around the world. Our love and thoughts go out to her family.”

The show’s main star and famous brand Cillian Murphy also shared his thoughts. His statement said, “Stephanie is a ferocious talent. She invented the Peaky Blinders look and shape that has become iconic worldwide. We will all miss her. TEAR.”

Collie has an impressive portfolio of artists she has worked with including Daniel Craig, Morgan Freeman, Samuel L Jackson, Penélope Cruz and Ryan Reynolds.

Craig wrote about Collie, saying she was “a pleasure to work with” and that she “will be greatly missed.” Jackson also shared his gratitude, calling the costume designer “an incredibly fun and collaborative part” of his work.
