Coach Meghan Begs to Replace Katy Perry on ‘American Idol’

After many years as a judge, Katy Perry has finally broken up American Idol, and at the time of this writing, her position remains vacant. More recently, Meghan Trainor said she wanted to replace the pop star because it was her dream job.

Recently, the owner of the hit “Mom” appeared in an interview above Watch What Happens live with Andy Cohen, where she revealed that she wanted to be Perry’s replacement on the reality singing competition series after she announced her departure earlier this year.

Trainor said she always wanted to be a judge on the show and she wrote to three people who could potentially help her.

“I did every interview in the world saying it was my dream job and I emailed three amazing people who work in that world… I really had no say full but I begged,” she said.

The “Made You Look” singer has an impressive background as a judge as she previously appeared on shows such as Foursome: Battle for the Stars, The Voice UK, And Australian idol.

In addition, she also appeared on American Idol as a guest mentor, where Ryan Seacrest applauded her talent and attitude.

The host spoke to Entertainment Tonight and said: “Meghan is also super talented and she has a great sense of humor. She’s fun and very natural.”

One of the judges, Luke Bryan, had a similar experience, saying: “I think Meghan is always really happy. You know, that’s her brand, have fun. [She’s] Definitely very witty.”

As of this writing, there is still no clear replacement for Perry on the show, and Trainor revealed that she has yet to receive any updates on the e-mails she sent.

“It’s my dream job. I want to drive to work at American Idol and then drive home,” she added.

In other updates about the singer, Trainor released her late album timeless in the first day of this month. She will also embark on a tour later this year across North America. This was a major comeback for the singer, as it took her seven years to perform again at a series of concerts.
