Cyberpunk 2077 2.02 Update Patch Notes
Patch 2.02 for Cyberpunk 2077 and Phantom Free is rolling out on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. It includes mission and gameplay fixes for the most common issues as well as other general improvements.

Exclusively for Phantom Liberty
- Rebalance vehicle contract time limits.
- Various fixes for animation, lighting, scenes, VFX, and more.
- Fixed a collision issue in different locations that could cause players to get stuck.
- Simulated completed missions will now be visible in the log when starting a new game and jumping to Phantom Free.
- Fixed an issue where the Quadra Sport R-7 “Vigilante” could not be purchased on the Autofixer website under certain circumstances.
- Fixed the issue where there was a roadblock in front of the Dog Town gate, making it impossible to enter.
- The Sasquatch’s Hammer will now appear in the vendor’s inventory on the Stadium Black Market, if it was initially missed after the Sasquatch boss fight.
- Dex’s body will now spawn in the landfill on save with the option to jump to Phantom Free selected.
- Jackie’s gun can now be picked up from the altar in El Coyote Cojo when selecting the option to jump to Phantom Freedom.
- Fixed an issue on Xbox Series X|S that displayed a placeholder popup instead of an error message about Phantom Liberty installation.
- Chaos Addicted – Fixed an issue where the mission might not be completed if the storage room was looted before receiving the message with the code.
- Black Steel in the Hour of Chaos – Fixed an issue where under certain circumstances the Warbler could remain active after a failed mission, even without following the tracks left by the Songbird.
- Firestarter – After looting the Stadium Security Data Fragment from Hansen’s body, it will no longer be possible to disassemble it, preventing mission progression.
- Firestarter – The Bald Eagle weapon can now be looted after supporting Songbird.
- The Show: Road to Redemption – Fixed an issue in Firestarter where the door to the Stadium Weapons Factory could accidentally open early on, interfering with Show progression and possibly locking the player behind the door.
- Hi Ho Silver Lining – Fixed an issue where the objective “Leaving a Heavy Heart” might not be marked as completed after leaving the Heavy Heart.
- I’ve seen that face before – Fixed an issue where the “Get to Vantage Point” objective might not be marked as completed after reaching the vantage point.
- Mobile Heat – Fixed an issue where being unable to enter a car due to it not spawning.
- Moving Heat – Fixed an issue where the mission could remain stuck on the “Drive Away” objective even after getting in the car and leaving the area.
- Run This Town – Fixed an issue where Black Sapphire could become inaccessible due to the shutters being closed if the player triggered a lobby battle at the end of You Know My Name.
- Run the Town – Fixed an issue where the heavy-hearted Mr. Hands could not be seen due to the elevator being disabled.
- Run This Town – Fixed an issue where the character menu and fast travel were still blocked after removing Aguilar’s Mark.
- Run This Town – Fixed an issue where the journal incorrectly suggested that players must complete Odd Job: Jungle Spy to continue the quest, when in fact it was Odd Job: The Heaviest Heart.
- Some Breakage – Fixed an issue where Cerberus would not spawn until the hallway chase scene if the player fired their weapon at a specific location near Serra Terminal.
- Some damage – Removed the property check on the door when locked in the observation room, and adjusted the objective to make it more clear that you need to dodge the Cerberus in order to progress.
- Spiders and Flies – Fixed an issue where the boss fight with the Chimera might not start.
- Damn – Fixed an issue where quest objectives would disappear after a moth meeting, thus blocking progress.
- Killing Moon – Fixed an issue that could trigger the police system when driving to a spaceport.
- What’s been done has changed – Fixed an issue where the screen could go black after calling a nurse.
- Tomorrow Never Knows – Fixed an issue where being unable to ask Misty for a tarot card after completing Heroes.
- New guys, same old bug – Fixed an issue in 2.01 where the door to Bill’s Hot Dog Stand remained closed for some players.
Quests and open world
- Fixed an issue where the Quadra Type-66 “Wingate” was not visible in the call vehicle menu after purchase.
- Johnny will no longer appear when claiming the Trauma Drama reward before completing the first act.
- The Trauma Team website can now be accessed on V’s computer when the “Killing in the Name” mission is active.
- Defeat the Kid: Arroyo – Fixed an issue where defeating Buck while equipped with the Micro Generator Network Software could prevent the mission from completing.
- Show: We Got Your Wife – Fixed an issue where the show might not start after approaching the mission area.
- Life in Wartime – Fixed an issue where Panam might not be able to get on the motorcycle and ride to the gas station if V got on the motorcycle first.
- Path to Glory – V will no longer be in a straight line after entering Delamain AV.
- The Beast Within Me – Fixed an issue that prevented shooting from vehicles during matches.
Gameplay
- Rebalanced some weapon stats based on player feedback.
- Malorian weapon 3516 received a buff. Even at lower stamina, recoil is easier to handle and damage is increased.
- Crafting specs for iconic weapons will now disappear after crafting the item.
- Added missing statistics to Monowire’s tooltips.
- Fixed an issue with possible duplicate junk items.
- Bullets now correctly deal damage when fired through glass.
- Fixed the issue where level 5 skill fragments could be obtained easily in the early stages of the game. Their prices have also been adjusted.
- Disables decoy quick attacks on enemies standing on the edge of an area they shouldn’t leave.
- Fixed an issue where the Data Recycler privilege would restore the base RAM cost without taking into account the RAM reduction privilege, thus restoring more RAM than was actually spent.
- Fixed some specific situations where crowd NPCs could pass through vehicles while walking.
- Fixed an issue that could cause elevators in various missions to spawn on incorrect floors if a save/load was performed after the elevator had started moving.
- Fixed an issue where the appearance of V’s hands in the first-person perspective may not change correctly after installing or uninstalling the Arm network software.
- Donating to the homeless will no longer lower your NCPD wanted level.
- Fixed an issue where the network software may be downgraded to Tier 1 after the game is updated to 2.01.
- Fixed skill progression passive.
PC only
- Choosing Default Graphics Settings should now select the correct Quick Preset based on your hardware and based on the latest system recommendations.
- Introduced a mechanism for detecting mismatched or corrupted scripts due to outdated mods or file corruption during update/installation. It now displays a descriptive error message and closes the game instead of causing a crash.
Console specific
- Increase the sav.dat internal buffer size to 15MiB, but do not increase the overall maximum save size.
- The save process has been restructured so that saves are not overwritten until we know the data is valid – this helps prevent save corruption in case there is not enough space for the save.
Different kinds
- Various optimizations, performance improvements and crash fixes.
- Fixed an issue where some achievements or trophies could be unlocked on 2.01 after loading a pre-2.0 save, despite not meeting their criteria. Please note that this fix will not reset unlocked achievements.
- Fixed an issue where a “Warning – Detected” message could be displayed instead of a “Completed” message when scanning a vehicle or connecting a personal link under certain circumstances.
- Fixed an issue where you would sometimes see flickering garbage when crawling out of the landfill in Buying Time.
- Fixed misaligned glitch effect on Johnny.
- Fixed an issue where NPCs could appear elongated when affected by explosions or the Savage Sling ability.
- Fixed an issue where tooltips on the map and interactive tips for renting apartments were showing double the actual price.
- Block cross-process uploads of saves larger than the maximum save size limit on the console to prevent crashes and issues when importing such saves.
- Dubbing has been remastered to improve audio quality for German, Simplified Chinese, and Japanese.
