Combat in the game is very flexible, allowing players to reposition themselves using various moves such as sprinting, cover, and double jumping. Cyberware implants installed by “ripperdoc” can unlock or upgrade these capabilities. The game offers a variety of weapons, both melee and ranged, as well as customization options, with each weapon dealing different types of damage. Players can choose to take a non-lethal approach, using non-lethal weapons and cyberware options.

Night City is a vast game world composed of six areas, each with its own unique characteristics. V can be explored on foot or by vehicle, with a day-night cycle and dynamic weather affecting NPC behavior. The open world experience extends to V’s apartment, garage, and various apartments available for purchase. The game introduces an immersive day and night cycle, dynamic weather, and a full-fledged radio system.

Language barriers for non-English characters can be overcome using translation implants. The storyline involves branching conversations, interactions with NPCs, and player choices that affect multiple endings. Cyberpunk 2077 delivers a rich and immersive experience that blends combat, exploration and storytelling in a futuristic and dynamic environment.

After a failed heist, V inserts a biochip into their heads, triggering unforeseen consequences. V is shot to death by a repairman and wakes up haunted by Johnny’s digital ghost. The biochip’s nanotechnology repaired V’s brain, but initiated a process that overwrote their memories with Johnny’s. With time limited, V searches for a way to survive.

V revisits Johnny’s memories and discovers the origin of the biochip and Arasaka’s evil plan. The climax gives the player a choice: attack Arasaka Tower using the Soul Killer and get rid of Johnny, or make a deal with Hanako Arasaka. This decision affects the ending, leading to various outcomes, including V’s survival, becoming a legend, or letting Johnny take over. Cyberpunk 2077’s complex narrative and choices shape V’s fate in the dystopian world of Night City.
