Unlike some games, there is no need to pay to win; success depends solely on skill and strategy. MLBB has become a popular event in the esports scene, with tournaments such as the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Pro League (MPL) leading up to the Mobile Legends World Championship.
Despite its success, the game has faced legal issues, including a lawsuit from Riot Games over similarities to League of Legends. Furthermore, it was banned in India in 2020 due to security concerns.

The goal is to destroy the enemy’s base by destroying their defensive turrets in three lanes while defending your own. The game ranks players based on their skill level, with seven levels ranging from Warrior to Mythic.
In classic mode, players can freely choose heroes and form a team, regardless of level. The game also has arcade modes such as brawl and magic chess, providing different gaming experiences.
Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Development
After the success of Moonton’s first game, Magic Rush: Heroes, they began developing their next project, a mobile multiplayer online battle arena (MOBA) game called Mobile Legends. It was released in 2016 and quickly became popular around the world. However, it faced legal issues from Riot Games and had to be renamed Mobile Legends: Bang Bang. Over time, the game faced technical challenges such as security holes and third-party hacks, which Moonton addressed with updates and patches.

In 2019, Moonton released Mobile Legends: Bang Bang 2.0, which included engine upgrades and various improvements. The update increased the game’s popularity on social media. But in 2020, the game encountered problems with third-party plug-ins and hacker attacks, leading to account bans and security issues. Moonton responded with measures such as two-factor authentication.
Project NEXT, announced in 2020 to celebrate the game’s fifth anniversary, brings significant changes to enhance the player experience. This includes revamps of old heroes, improvements to game mechanics, and the introduction of new content. The project was released in three phases over several months.
Despite the challenges, Mobile Legends: Bang Bang has been a huge success, with over 1 billion downloads and maintaining a large player base.
