Cynthia Erivo recently shared her vision of entering the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Following her notable performance as Elphaba in the film adaptation of “Wicked,” the 38-year-old actress was asked about the dream character she envisions taking on next.

In her answer, she mentioned a legendary superhero in Marvel’s lineup.

In an interview with the National Board of Review, the 38-year-old looks forward to becoming a member of the “X-Men” team as the iconic Storm, who is also known as the weather wizard Ororo Munroe .

“I really want to play Storm,” Erivo said. “I know this sounds frivolous, but I think we’ve yet to discover how great she is and all the inner turmoil she has. So I think there’s a world in which we can do something about that.”

Just one Oscar shy of becoming an EGOT winner, Erivo has shown her versatility across multiple roles. From her role as a green-skinned witch to her deeply emotional embodiment of Celie Harris in “The Color Purple,” her performances have certainly captivated audiences.

Despite her talent, MCU fans were hesitant to see her take on the iconic role.

Well not in this world, that’s for sure. maybe in a world called ‘la la land’ you’ll find that

No offense to her, but she’s not pretty enough. Storm is drop-dead gorgeous. I don’t even think Halle Berry did her justice.

No one wants to see this woman play Storm.👎🏾

What about them choosing a non-black woman just for giggles.

I’m sure she’ll play the role well, but I kindly hope someone else apologizes

I don’t like her energy. It doesn’t suit Storm.

I wouldn’t call her ugly but to play storm you need some height and a card with a crazy face, my choice is Laura kariuki for a younger storm then Anna diop or wise Deanda but my # is Laura pic.twitter.com/ygPXXJaCnU

being in the MCU is for actors who want a break from real acting and are looking for something like a 9-5… the steady pay is there but the artistry is too dead in those roles

Disney is trying to lick their meat with this possibility

Please, she’ll get more hate than brie Larson 💀💀don’t do that and give it to someone else

Amid the rejection, some expressed excitement about the possibility of Erivo taking on the iconic Marvel character.

Can see her doing it!

I speak for everyone when I say we all want this

I think Cynthia Erivo would make a great storm. I think Zendaya or Zoe Kravitz would also do a great job as Storm.
