Cynthia Erivo became “annoyed” after being asked about her long nails.
On the latest episode of Dax Shepard’s “Armchair Expert” podcast, the “Wicked” actress was caught off guard by his surprising question about how useful her acrylic nails are for jobs. daily work.
The podcast host started the conversation by saying, on Page Six, “Can I ask you a really crazy and inappropriate question?”
“When you were wiping your butt…” Shepard continued before the British actress interjected, “I knew you were going to ask that question.”
Erivo quipped: “My answer is that no one just uses their finger to wipe their butt. You use a tissue, right? And you wipe!”
Probing further, Shepard asked about the star’s preferred method of holding toilet paper and whether she uses the tip of her fingernails.
The 37-year-old star said she relied on “finger pads” and asserted her competence as a responsible individual declaring, “I am a capable adult.”
Continuing her questioning, Shepard asked if she ever felt light when her nails scratched a surface.
“No, because there are tissues there,” she replied.

When Shepard also asked if she found the question “offensive,” she replied, “I’m offended by that. I would say, ‘Come on guys.’ But I get it, but it’s also like, ‘I’m a capable adult and I’ve never walked around smelling like, you know…'”
She added: “Here’s the thing, there are people who don’t have fingernails who need to check how they are wiping.”
Erivo playfully commented that several people had asked about her ability to complete the task with her perfectly manicured nails, and her response was “And I said, ‘I mean, I here! I’m getting dressed.'”
“Wicked: Part One,” starring Erivo and Ariana Grande, opens in theaters on Nov. 22 and a sequel is due out next year.
