Early life
Daniel John Bongino was born on December 4, 1974, in Queens, New York City, to Italian-American parents. He was named John Bongino and Judy. He also has an older brother named Joe Bongino.
He grew up in a working-class family and attended public schools. After graduating from high school, he joined the United States Marine Corps from 1993 to 1997.
Education
Queens College, City University of New York: Bachelor of Arts in Psychology (1997) and Master of Arts in Psychology (2002). Bongino graduated from Pennsylvania State University: Master of Business Administration (2010).
Career
Bongino’s career began with four years as a police officer with the New York City Police Department (NYPD). He then transferred to the United States Secret Service, protecting President George W. Bush and President Obama.
To pursue a career in politics, Bongino left the Secret Service in 2011 and ran for the United States Senate in Maryland. Unfortunately, he was unsuccessful in winning the Republican nomination, which was held by incumbent Ben Cardin.
After his unsuccessful political run, Bongino began working as a political commentator. He became a frequent guest on Fox News and other conservative media outlets.
In 2017, he launched his radio show, The Dan Bongino Show, which quickly became one of the most popular conservative radio shows in the country.
After joining Fox News as a paid contributor in 2019, Bongino hosted his show Unfiltered with Dan Bongino. Known for his fierce criticism of the Democratic Party and the Biden administration, Bongino’s show has garnered significant attention.
