Dan Link On N*ked And Afraid: The Last Man Standing
The stakes are being raised as of late N*ked and scared branch. Twelve of the toughest contestants from previous seasons of the Discovery Channel reality series crashed into South Africa’s unforgiving Oribi Gorge because N*ked and Scared: Last Man Standing. To compete for a chance to win the main prize of $100,000, candidates will participate in a multi-stage challenge that will test their survival skills.
Phase one of the challenge sees pairs of survivors compete to survive for 21 days in the jungle. Food, drink, fire and shelter must be found by each couple. But first in Naked and Afraid, they will also need to work to get the survival tools they need, which are hidden around. They will move to a different area each week to maximize their abilities. Your opponent’s teammates are also eliminated if they decide to eliminate at any time during the match.
The remaining survivors will participate in a group challenge in the second round of the game, where they will face off against their peers. The third and most intense segment of the show is its ending. The three-day journey to mining will be for everyone for themselves because of the survivors. The winner of the contest will receive a six-figure prize and Naked and Afraid’s first perfect Top 10 Primal Survival ranking in addition to the win.
Among the 12 participants on the show is Dan, a marine biologist, who is one of two survivors who have completed the 14-day fan challenge to complete the legendary 60-day challenge.
Of his previous experience on the show, Dan said: “The skin on my arms and legs was cracked and my lips were so chapped and crusted that I thought I might be permanently disfigured.” However, he reached the last day. “The feeling of accomplishment when you reach that final day is unlike anything I have ever experienced before,” he said.

Dan Link is the son of the late Mary Kay Link. Mary was one of seven children of Jim and Kay Link. She spent nearly 30 years as a nurse and nursing educator, receiving much respect, recognition, and awards during her career.
After battling pancreatic cancer, she passed away on September 5, 2009 at the age of 55. She is survived by her siblings: John (Charlene), Jim (Debbie), Bob ( Robin), Betty (Pete), Tom (Maria) and Jane.
Besides Dan, Mary also has a daughter named Michelle.
